| hey everyone! i'm happy to say that i did survive surgery yesterday. thank you all soo much for your prayers and support. the surgery apparently went smoothly but thank goodness i don't remember any of it. i guess i was complaining of a lot of pain afterwards cuz they gave me 12mg of morphine and i still woke up in pain! oh well praise god for morphine!..
thanks for being there with me thru it all sweetie! :)
and thanks mom and dad too!

| so this is what's gonna happen to me tommorrow. i found a video of the surgery ---> arthroscopic bankart repair. in short they're gonna put me to sleep, intubate me (breathing tube), poke holes into my shoulder, then drill and suture stuff together. then... i'll be in a sling for 4 weeks!! and no basketball, football, volleyball for 6 months!!... soooo sad.. *tear* http://www.hss.edu/professional-conditions_13481.asp "my father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless i drink it, may your will be done." matthew 26:42 i feel like i'm about to be crucified. but good thing i'm not... because i am not jesus... and i am not carrying the sins of the world... and i would not be raised from the dead... thanks in advance for all your prayers!!

| so after dislocating my left shoulder for the 60th time, i finally decided that it was time to do something about it. i injured it on a snowboarding trip 5 years ago. its so loose now that it will pop out even when i do normal daily activities, such as turning off my alarm clock in the morning. there's usually a few moments of discomfort and fear of it getting stuck, but it usually pops back in after i push it in with my other hand. anyways i got an MRI and here it is:
the techinical term for what i have is a Perthes type labral tear (anterior, inferior tear) which you can't really tell from here. but what you can tell is the bone (the drumstick looking thing), and of course, the massive muscle surrounding it. haha, jk! but not really...
here's another view of the mri on my desk. the orthopod said i'll need a bankart repair to stabilize it and tighten the capsule. it'll be an arthroscopic surgery with small incisions and camera ports. so, i'll be going under the knife next thursday 7/17. weird being the patient again! please pray for me!! | | |
